I was 21. Lived in DC. Went to a local club called Louie's Rock City. Standing room for maybe 100 people. Joey comes to the mic & destroyed us!!!! This album, yes every original Ramones record, is a must if you have any heart for rock n roll. I may be in my 60s now but there are very few bands that have the gift of these guys....

If I was given an option to take any Ramones albums to a desert island or the Sex Pistols nevermind the bullocks, I'd pick the Ramones. Hands down a fun and energy charged album that only improves with age. Get it, you won't regret it!!!

Great album, super catchy and very dance-y, but come of the lyrics are pretty sexist. However, the music is good enough that I'm willing to overlook it and still listen to it.

This is a great album by one of the first punk rock bands and the deluxe version is even better! A must buy for any Ramones fan or punk rocker!
  • GREATEST ALBUM EVER MADE

THis is the best punk album EVER! And its one of the most influential albums in rock. It inspired bands like, The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, and Pennywise. It even kick started the punk genre. Even metal bands were inspired by them. Metallica even did a tribute album for them! Buy this Whole album. Not just Blitzkrieg Bop. Buy Today your love, 53 and 3. THe WHole Album! This album left a legacy. So thank you Ramones for 22 years of FUN! Thank you for giving the cretins, the pinheads, and the kids who just dont quite fit in, a thing that they can call there own. It changed so many lives, It changed mine as well. And, when im not having a great day, i just pump up Were a happy family, Glad To Seeya Go, and Judy is a Punk, and sing along to it as loud as i can. Cause it only felt like it was 20 20 24 hours a go. Gabba Gabba Hey ( R.I.P Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee)
  • They DID do a Ballad...

This is a great album, and I would recommend buying as an album, and listening to it in from beginning to end (in sequence) several times within a week - you will then possibly have a deeper appreciation of what the Ramones are truly about. Regarding the last review, the Ramones DID do a ballad (a remake) called, "Baby I Love You".
  • Beyond Criticism ?

I'm not a big Ramones fan. But I still admire the fact that they NEVER did a ballad. Thank goodness. To say this music is too simple is like saying the Empire State building is too tall. It is what it is. And since they are very honest about what they wanted to do, you can only criticize it so much. In the end, Ramones fans surrender to the whole "attitude over ability" approach. I DO like "Blitzkrieg Bop." And Joey had a unique voice - like an adult dysfunctional child. Charming - in an "End of Western Civilization" sort of way. Some songs are so short (even 90 seconds), that you won't even have a chance to notice they're repetitive. ................."1,2,3....4 !"

Why are there no original Ramones albums that are NOT deluxe?...
