  • Spare Us The Political Crap

I do not care what your political views are Neil, one or two occasionally is ok, but we get it Neil. He is so driven to get across his political views that the music suffers. Besides, is their any artist who isnt a flaming liberal. Look Neil Young is one of the greatest artist of all time, but this album is crap, Where does all the money go Neil? It goes in your pocket, he cannot possibly pretend to relate to the people who are really struggling during this recession. I guess some fools will buy into to this crap, but if you've never heard Neil Young before this isnt the place to start.

This is definitely a redemption for Living With War. Sure it doesn't hold up to his old stuff but that goes for any artist that's been around as long as Neil. Overall I think this is a great rock album.

  • Johnny Magic is the best song on the album

The beat is classic old-style Neil Young at his best and the lyrics cover the future of motor travel. Most of you have never driven a plug-in hybrid electric car, but you will and Neil knows it.

Same old chords, same old strained whiney voice. There's nothing relevant about this album and neither is it any different to Young's past efforts. He's the master of paying lip service in pursuit of a fast buck.

Awesome album. Not one of his best but its up there with the rest. At his age he can still put out some good tunes.Keep it going Mr. Neil Young. Don't stop!
  • Fuzzy, Buzzy Rock

Neil you still have it, you can really rock! The fuzzy, buzzy guitar on this album truly reflects original grunge roots. Generally the guitar throughout the album is just great. Plus the lyrical theme makes this album fun. This puts "Chrome Dreams II" to shame; you hit a homer. My faves: When Worlds Collide Just Singing A Song Johnny Magic Cough Up The Bucks Get Behind The Wheel Light A Candle - great classic Neil Young Fork In The Road and the rest of it isn't too bad either!

I don't know if this is just me, but I like his electric songs a lot better than his acoustic. Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black), Song X, and Rockin' in the Free World are among my favorite songs of his. Also, Pearl Jam does a great cover of Rockin' in the Free World live at Lollapalooza.

Can someone kill this generation off!!! Only musicians who stick to what they are known for survive. It is OK to experiment but to try and rehash and apply it to rock grunge to keep hip to the young generation, when the most memorable music from this talented artist was the wonderful folk tunes he sang with such passion is a travesty! I think Neil is amazing but I think it is time for reflection. Think back...way back and draw upon those wonderful heartfelt tunes you made that make people connect. I saw him live at the LA Forum in the 90s and I wanted to kill myself because of the intense wall of noise and feedback he produced. Neil... you are better than this...
