  • If you are Neil fan, you WILL like this.

No, it isn't Neil's strongest album, but it's a Neil Young album and if you love listening to Neil's sound, this is it. Love Earth, Break the Chain, Chevrolet are all as good as anything. Nils Lofgren as a full-time Crazy Horse member adds a beautiful element to the music. It's hard to say you are a fan if you don't include this in your collection.

When one follows their inner voice you hear the truth. In the case of this collection the message and the live recorded music comes from the soul. Grateful that Neil continues make honest pure music in a world more focused on filling bank accounts of select few who pretend they know music.
  • Chevrolet worth the price of admission alone

The extended psychedelic “Chevrolet” (a la “Down by the River”, or “Cortez”…or any number of his works with Crazy Horse) makes this album worth the price of admission alone. Yes, as the reviews below imply there is filler music (perhaps different songs for every person) on this album – like every Neil Young album…or almost any album, really. But most will find an album’s worth of music in this collection. Neil Young is astonishing. He is the only survivor of the 60’s that has continuously made beautiful, signature music… while all along supporting contemporary creative music such as Sonic Youth with whom he toured with. Bob Dylan lost me in the 80’s. Joni Mitchel in the mid 70’s. Paul McCartney after the White Album. Crosby’s first album is brilliant (which Jerry Garcia, Joni Mitchel, and Neil Young played on) but his creativity stopped there. Whereas Young has for me has continued almost untarnished.

Two good songs on what is otherwise a waste of your life to listen to---time you'll never get back. Love Neil, but he's gone off the deep end, taking his music off of Spotify. He's like the kid who gets made and takes his marbles and goes home. Oh, Neil. I sure did appreciate the old Neil who questioned authority (such as the Vietnam War). This Neil? He's chosen to side with Big Pharma. Best to you, Neil.
  • Chevrolet Really

I refuse to purchase another Young record for just one song. I have done that since Ragged Glory. This makes me look forward to the post anthropocene period. Barry

Fingernails on a chalkboard sounds better than this album.
  • Neil still being Neil!

Great sounding album with some interesting hits and misses, but that’s typical for a Neil Young album.

Nope, nothing worth listening to here. Stick to the older stuff.
  • This album’s bad

The mixes on most of these songs sound like garbage, Neil is barely audible and he sings terribly, the lyrics are half-baked, and some of the musicianship on these tracks feel sloppy. For example, some riffs sound generic and low-energy and Neil isn’t even singing on-beat sometimes. Also I like how this entire album is about protecting the Earth and he ends the album singing about joyriding in a Chevrolet. This album just sounds like an old geezer trying to get the band back together after not performing any music in decades.

I remember listening to “Cinnamon Girl” the first time. Who is this guy!? And then “After the Goldrush”. One of the best albums we played over and over with just a hint of acid. Many live concerts. Was the best of the best. Fast forward at warp speed to this album. RIP Neil Young. Your life as a songwriter, player, singer and relevance is dead.
