"Almost Always'' is, for me, the loveliest melody and lyrics Neil Young has in 50 years ever written or sung. Its multiple rhyming patterns, simple, uncluttered words/thoughts, nuanced melody movements skillfully fitted within a narrow range, and subtle, bordering-on-covert protest of the 'game show host' we live with who 'brags and boasts,' are deft, delicate touches of a wily master for whom, sometimes, his feel for less is more goes unappreciated by some--- though the touchstone of much ingenious art and music. He may need advice selecting songs to market, yet Neil Young remains lightyears from having lost it. That one song and others, as with the first and album-only cuts, are compelling examples of a superb singer-songwriter knowing well what he's up to and why. Three stars is an extravagantly mistaken album 'rating' given its unmistakeable superlatives.

The comments of this not being worthy I question are from people have not lived through the times when music was more than background noises. I agree that all may not like this but such a negative reaction is occuring to people feeling challenged. This is not just about one one in power but raising awareness of everyone that questioning in the most important quality humans need. Expressing it with a new generation of musicians only adds to it. As far as "he lost it when he got political"..... have you listened to "Ohio" CSNY?????

Its Neil and whatever he does or says is fine by me, thats music, doing what you want.
Cash's last was not up to John's past but it was still special.
But then again I dont expect people that cant vote correctly to give a correct view of an album either...
