This album is pure musical gold. It captues Neil at his artistic peak, when he was more prolific and creative than any other singer/songwriter at the time (or, for that matter anytime since). I had the good fortune to see him at the L.A. Forum in 77', and he did an acoustic set (before rocking out with Crazy Horse), and it included several of these gems, most notably, Campaigner. If you are already a fan, then this is a must-have.

It so strange to hear a non-live version of Powderfinger. I have three different live versions in my library. Love how simple the whole album sounds - Neil can do just about anything he wants muscially.

I'm a Neil fan from way back in the beginning. I've even read his book. I have over 20 of his albums. But this is a bunch of old stuff being recycled. It's like he said, "Let me go in the studio by myself, I won't have to pay a band, and just bang out some old crap with an acoustic guitar and make enough to pay some bills." Or maybe he's just getting lazy, but I'm not biting. I already own all these songs.

After the Gold Rush (1970) and Harvest (1972) are two album that I have returned to again and again, and while it smacks of hyperbole, I would put this album in that category ... meaning just a classic, timeless, powerful Neil album. This is an album of solo acoustic studio versions of classic songs. I have followed Neil through all of his moods, changes, and off-roads (even Trans/Reactor era), but at least to me, this is Neil Young. If you love Neil, it will be the best $9.99 that you spend this year.

Wait... this was made in 1976 but never released?!? Why?!? This is one of the best Neil Young albums I have heard in a long time. There is not a bad song on this album. If you are a Neil Young fan, you will definately love this!

Recorded back in the 70's with guiding Niel Young light Producer David Briggs who by Young's own account Niel listened and Niel felt Briggsy knew what was the sound he was looking for in the infancy of his career. This computation of these select songs shows you why many of these masterpieces ended up on future albums. I roll back in a time when Young was his most creative force. Juicy listening for hardened Young fan new and old. Peace

I really like Niel Young. I can't wait until the Niel Young archives comes out. As far as like and dislike, I think it is mostly a generational thing. The is not the music of my parents or kids. I however grew up with this music.
