This iTunes album version is missing the best track, a great cover of "Nothing But The water" featuring Grace Potter on vocal. C'mon, iTunes, we need it!

My first listen I couldn't help but ask myself, is this what happens when a band gets that big contract and has to turn out music on a schedule. I don't want to say it's bad, but I have most of their cds, and this one is, well, kind of boring, repetitive... There just simply is not a lot of changes in the songs, the middle is much like the beginning and the end. Sorry guys, I play to and I know reading this won't be any fun.

I just saw the jamming Mastersounds in the Big Apple, and a portion of the show was from the new album. It rocks on my ipod and was even better live with the extended jams put forth by Eddie and crew. This album shows more diversity in their songs than previous offerings. A little slower in spots but with some extended grooves in Ooom and Make Me Proud that is pure funk bliss. I only wish they would add more saxophones in their tracks to change up the sound a bit. But having seen Eddie live, playing leads, fills, rhythms, he is like 3 guitar virtuosos in one. The drums and bass lines are so consistent that even a guitar hack like me could sit in and make something listenable. They are a well rounded quartet although the keyboards drift a bit, which is a good thing, compared to the tight trio on bass, drums, and guitar as it adds in some nice melodic moments to counterbalance the strong beats. I keep thinking someone is going to discover this band and put them on the radio one day but I am happy that I have found them here on i tunes. You should too.
