I am only 13 years old and when I first heard Europe I fell in love with them. I always take out my bass or my guitar and rock out to Cherokee or Rock the Night in my room. This album though, is absolutely amazing. Stormwind takes the "Best Song" award but Wings of Tomorrow is awesome too. All the songs are awesome. This album really shows Europes roots as a hard rock band vs a hair metal band. Really, I would consider this album either genre and I love both hard rock and hair metal. Also, if you notice, Joey Tempest's accent is much stronger on this album than say, Out of this World, or The Final Countdown, because this is pretty early on in Europe's career, and the band was fresh from Sweden. This is their second album following their equally amazing self titled debut in 1983. In all, I believe they recorded 12 studio albums which is amazing and very inspirational. I LOVE YOU EUROPE AND I LOVE THIS ALBUM!

Im not just giving this album 5 stars beacause I LIKE this album, but because this is an AWESOME album. This is the prequel to The Final Countdown. The songs are musically and lyrically stronger than the before mentioned sequel. And while later Europe albums might not show its prog and power metal textures, this one does. And don't forget the great guitar virtuosoism by John Norum. He is a beast at guitar and shows it on songs like "Dance The Night Away", and "Wings Of Tommorow". And then of course there is the stadium lighter power ballads like "Open Your Heart" and "Dreamer". And other songs like "Stormwind", "Treated Bad Again" and the power metal "Scream Of Anger" makes this one complete. This album should of been the breakout album for Europe, but this is the album that won them their worldwide record contract with Epic Records. This might as well be "The Best Album That No One's Heard Of" for a reason. This probably would have gone 5 to 10 times platinum here in the U.S if it was released at the proper time, no joke. But if your deciding wether to buy this album right now (And you have money) get it, you won't regret it. If your trying to decide between "The Final Countdown" and this one, get this one first, its not that "The Final Countdown" is bad, but this "Wings Of Tommorow", stands out very clear that this is the bands finest moment and a masterpiece.

I remember when I first bought this cd and was totally blown away by John Norums uninhibited emotional guitar phrasing and the equally mature compelling vocal lines delivered by the one and only Joey Tempest. To this very day I still get chills down my spine listening to standout tracks like scream for anger and ballads like dreamer! This album is the the pinnacle of a magical chemistry of five very young gifted Scandanavian musicians captured on tape in the recording studio! For a while I was addicted to each and every song and new practically every nuance, note, fill, and beat of the entire album. Even the cover is such a phenomenal work of art. Who could have ever imagined that a country with a population of only 6 million people would produce such a band that would elevate the bar of originality and creativity with a quiet crescendo of thunder and lightning. This most definitely is their heaviest and darkest album that spans the realms of love, hate, death, fate, apocalypse, and so much more. Even the neoclassical haunting melody of the instrumental Aphasia rivals some of the riveting guitar work of Ritchie Blackmore. Norum is an extremely underrated breath of fresh air on this album who combines his unique flair for blues and classical in a manner that penetrates the listeners musical soul! To this very day I have not heard a more moving and live vibe sounding studio project. For this reason I emphatically declare a perfect five star rating for this album that dares to go where no album has gone before!

The Final Countdown is Europe's best album, but this is great also. This album is the definition of rock.

Different from other bands of that era such as Cinderella and Motley Crue. Europe is awesome though.

Europe was a hard rock band before they were sucked into the hairmetal frenzy. And this album really shows their roots. With a great ballad Open Your Heart and Dreamer, then very heavy songs like Scream of Anger, this album has it all. If you only know Europe as The Final Countdown dudes, then you should really give this album a chance!!
