Good for sleep induction

Until someone does scientific studies about what specific sounds and music induces sleep, we need to rely on our personal tastes - so writing that a particular album works for me may nto mean it works for you. I like this album. It is non-melodic, which always grows tedious after a few listens because the melody becomes predictable and something tat my brain can anticipate - which keeps me awake. This album is a long drone that is never completely static. Volume varies subtly here and there. There are also various frequency sounds that appear and disappear. There doesn't seem to be a pattern here and that is good. You are lost in an aural soundscape that is dynamic but unpredictable; slow-moving but obviously moving. Low frequency sounds rumble slowly along and forward. The effect of this on me is relaxation. My brain is interested enough to listen but there isn't any pattern to hold on to. The result is that you escape from analytical thinking and you can rest. If you like the longer works of Brian Eno, you may go for this.
