Desire Walks On

I bought this album when it came out on the strength of "Will You Be There (In The Morning)," but soon discovered that it's one of several great songs here. "In Walks The Night" is a powerful meditation on a lost love, and beautifully arranged. Heart's cover of Dylan's "Ring Them Bells" is just brilliant. "Back To Avalon" is poetic and hopeful, showcasing the girls' voices as well as some great guitar playing. Overall, the album is beautifully recorded and produced. The recording engineer deserves high praise for the sound quality here. Every nuance is crystal clear, even during the hardest-driving guitar and vocal passages. Very impressive.

This was my first Heart album i bought and still remains a strong contender for my favorite Heart album. Black on Black is a killer song and gets the blood pumping. Not the least essential by far in a great career for the Wilson sisters.
