The arrangements and the quality of the music on the "Butterfly" side is fantastic. The vocals are as always astounding. This to me is an all time classic from my favorite rock band.
  • Perhaps their very best

This is their quintessential album, with the masterpiece song, mistral wind. Blending acoustic and electric, heavy and mellow, with amazing vocals and instrumentals, this is considered the best album by most heart fans. While often dismissed back then as a female fronted Led Zeppelin, if one listens to the nuances, you will find that it is much more complex and intricate than any Zepplin.

I was listening to this album when I was 14. Over and over again. Somehow remembered every word to every song as soon as I listened tonight. This takes me back to when I was just a kid and I enjoy it even more now as an adult. Buy it, you will love every song, especially the lyrics.

Probably the most solid work the Wilson sisters et.al. did. Solid Rockers on side Dog and the acoustic sound Nancy is best at on side Butterfly. Adding an old friend, Susan Ennis, to collaborate with them seemed to provide a depth in lyrical quality like never before. This album is also the last one with Roger Fisher (guitar) and Steven Foss (bass) - Ann broke up with Fisher after the tour! Cook with Fire and Mistral Wind are two great songs not generally played on the radio - try them out!

I love this album. I never realized just how much it influenced me. This is the original version of the album. Although the other one on iTunes has additional songs (such as Heartless from Magazine), it's compressed to death. It sounds terrible. Yeah, so it's not as loud. That can be a good thing. This one is the right one.
