This is most deffinatly the best song I have ever heard. I am a 17 year old certified first responder trainee to become an Emergency Medical Services technician. I am waiting to be old enough to take my EMT-B course. I love every minute of it!!!

I first heard of Dave Carroll like the rest of the world --- after United broke his guitar. I have to admit, the song was catchy, it struck a chord with all of us because of how the airlines have abused "Customer Service" (a serious oxymoron in the Airline industry) and just because we could relate to having been there ourselves. I followed Dave, for the most part, solely for the United Trilogy. I figured, I had to see how it all ends. After that, well, he's just another artist who's just another one hit wonder, who's gonna be forgotten --- it is just a matter of time. Today I got an email from Dave. Dave WHO? I don't remember who this guy is... so I clicked over to find out more (It was obviously not spam, so I gave it professional courtesy of a look-see). Oh, yeah, the "United Breaks Guitars" Guy... what's he up to now? As I watched the video for "Everyday Heroes" my whole attitude towards him shifted. The song is incredible --- but Dave, the artist, isn't just griping and complaining, he's actually trying to shift our focus off ourselves and on to the people we should be appreciating more. In light of the 9/11 tragedy, "Hero" has taken on a whole new meaning. Firemen who run INTO fires, into danger... deserve far more credit than they get. And Dave is here to challenge us to see that. Policemen who walk INTO the line of fire.... who risk their lives to save the lives of others... deserve more than the griping and complaining they get from us when we've been speeding and got caught. (Newsflash: Next time, try NOT SPEEDING.... it's not the cop's fault you were a lead-foot.) Dave is here to remind us of the gallant job they do in protecting and serving the community. And even though it's brief in the video, there's the 911 operator's who have to hang on for dear life while someone else's world falls apart and the Emergency room doctor's who have to make snap decisions to save lives.... True Heroes, one and all. Dave has stepped above the "It's all about Me" glamour of modern rock-stars. He had his 15 minutes of self-glory (RE: United and his mangled gibson) and now he's out to shine the light on others more deserving. I say ---- ABOUT TIME someone used their fame to benefit someone other than themselves. It's an impressive song, it's an even mmore heart-wrenching video (guess the money from the United trilogy afforded him a better Music Video budget), and it's well worth dropping the $$$ on to listen to on your Ipods. Better --- Buy the song and say thanks to an Everyday Hero out there.... tell them Dave remdinded you of their tireless service.
