Some people think that the time of Electric Café (Techno Pop) was a dark time for Kraftwerk. I personally think this album is great! It sounds different from Computer World or The Man Machine, but in a good way. It isn't as inspired as those albums, but this one is just fine.

The first three songs on Techno Pop are very great to listen to. Even with the repetitive lyrics, “Boing, Boom, Tschak”, “Techno Pop” and “Music Non Stop”, are the best songs on the album. Electric Cafe, regarding the song not the original title, and Sex Object are weaker than most. Sex Object makes you ask “What does Sex Object mean?” just like “How can you build a city out of Rock and Roll?”. But the song is not terrible and I still listen to it. It’s a great album
  • Another Great Kraftwerk Album

I recently discovered Kraftwerk and saved listening to this album last as it has garnered some criticisms from Kraftwerk lovers. After a few listens I have come to really enjoy this album as a percussive tour de force(wink). Any melody or singing seems to be there solely to set up the idea of the piece(song) so it does lack the beautiful melodies of the older albums but it makes up for it with such interesting and fun rhythmic interplay.

One of Kraftwerk's best "mainstream ' crossovers. I guess this version of this CD is the American one, because the one I have on CD doesn't have this remixed version of Telephone Call or Home Phone, but one long version of Telephone Call. Anyway it's a great listen!

Musik Non stop & The Telephone Call will always be my favorites. The other songs are all quite good too. So ahead of their time.

Still as fresh and ahead of its time as when it first came out. So underrated! One of the best albums of all time.
