I love this version. This song has a very special meaning to me and I encourage others to think of others when they are rating music. This is about beginings. Have Hope!

I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish here. "O" is probably one of the best albums I have ever heard. this version of cannonball makes him sound just like james blunt. So if you were looking for a top 40 hit you probably found one, but if you wanted to be known as a great lyricist and singer--well, you already were!

Never nothing but a five for Damien. This dude kills it live and anyone that can kill a live show deserve a 5. I went to a show Tuesday that sounded way better then the albums. No disrespect but if you can do that then you can do anything and deserves 5s :)
  • Sounds pretty cool

Damien Rice is a fantastic songwriter. "O" is a great album and "Cannonball" is a great song. I personally don't think that the remix is that bad at all! His songs are usually very slow, mellow, calming. But, not everyone likes that type of music. This is a good version of an already great song, I think.
  • I really hate doing this but...

I have to agree with the first review. I respect Damien more than you know but I hate to see such a great song having to be "remixed" for the radio. It just seems like it's not about the music in this verson, it's about the media and that doesn't seem like him at all. I deffinatley wouldn't judge Damien by this one EP because all of his music is perfect the way it is.

Damien himself does not approve of the remix either. He only allowed it to be done so that he could sign an agreement that would never allow any of his songs to ever be remixed or altered. So, don't hold it against him.
  • love the original but this is great too

i've been a damien rice fan ever since i randomly picked up O on a trip to London in 2003 - without ever hearing it - i love damien and all of his work; and i wish that he would garner more success in the US. nothing wrong with this single - a good mix - there is nothing wrong with catering to the masses...hopefully they will go out and purchase the REAL CD and be introduced into something they normally wouldn't listen to.
  • Not as good as the original

This is the weakest of the three versions of Cannonball on iTunes. The album version is beautiful! Definitely a five-star song! The other single is also very good, with just a solo guitar and voice - very intimate sounding. This one isn't too bad, but not as good as the others.
