This album is incredible. Damien Rice really expresses himself perfectly through his melodic music and his colorfully explicit lyrics. It is absolutely beautiful.

Any of the first 4 songs could have easily made up part of his 2nd album 9. Add the beautiful 'delicate' solo from O and this gives us a relief of the 4 year wait from O to 9. May take a few listens, but any Damien Rice fan will not be dissapointed. Their is also a instrumental Volcano which i'm not thrilled of and a portion of a vintage solo Demo of Volcano which is good on the ears

I actually heard this before I heard "O", so maybe that has to do with why I like it so much, but I think it is genuinely good. Even though "Woman Like a Man" has a lot of swearing in it, I like the song. Overall, I think it's the lyrics and his voice that won me over.
  • A Different View of Damien

This album is suprising, especially following the mellow tones of O. Still, Damien doesn't disapoint. The sounds are more vulgar and honest, but the emotion remains the same. My personal favorite off of this album and possibly out of all of Damien Rice's songs is Lonelily, but all are very good, including The Professor. I would definately recommend purchasing this!
