The best thing about this album is well lets see.... Everything. Rusted Root emits toe tapping infectious grooves that can be best heard when listening to a live album. This album is a must have even for the casual Rusted Root fan. It encompasses the majority of their work and its replayability is extremely high.
Purchase it now and enjoy it many times over !

One of the best bands I have seen in live, I thoroughly enjoy this album. You might not 'get it' if you have never seen Rusted Root perform live, but still it is a most energetic and enjoyable album. If you know about music and appreciate what it means to perform at this level you will really enjoy the entire album. If 'Send Me On My Way' is the only RR song you are familiar with, you might want to rethink buying this. The band is much more diverse than that popular track.

I've seen the band a number of times back when they were first starting. I believe the 1st show was at the Artery in the Shadyside part of Pittsburgh and the New Years Eve show at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena(now Mellon Arena) in '94 and a few more along the way. I haven't seen them since they opened for the Grateful Dead in June of '95. There are some good songs here but most don't seem to match the energy of the shows I've seen in person. Not a bad cd to pick up but I wonder what they are like now.....Favorites from this show/cd are Cat Turned Blue, Send Me On My Way, Food & Creative Love, Back to the Earth, Cruel Sun...all the older tunes.
The Rusted Root

Where do I start? Well lets just say I first heard Rusted Root play in Rochester New York. They played at the Water street music Hall my sophmore year of College at the University Of Rochester. Talk about amazing...Shortly after that they became a personal favorite and we would play them as far as Sandiego on the Beach long after graduation.
Better Days

As someone who hasn't really kept up with this band over the last decade and a half I was happy to revisit them in this live album. Arguably, they showed huge potential in their infancy and in my opinion lost what originally drew me to their music style. Most importantly the raw sound and massive doses of percussion started disappearing in the albums following "When I Woke". However, after listening to this album I started to remember where I was in life and why Rusted Root used to be appealing. For one I was much younger and all about enjoying my college years. This is one of the bands I remember dancing my head off to with my friends at small venues. They are a band just about anyone can enjoy. So if you're looking to find something in this album you've never heard then look elsewhere. But, if you want a great sounding live show of a band that helps you remember simpler fun times then purchase it. If you can’t jam to Martyr on this album then you’re too old or too boring. Personally, I found myself air jamming in the car a few times to this album, as did wide-eyed passer buyers.
