  • Bummed

Frustrating to write this but, I was disappointed as well with this album. A true, dedicated, long time fan here...I was really hoping for something a lot better. They've changed a lot - and with several members leaving, their influence left with them...no more of that "organic" feel. Awesome cover of "Suspicious Minds." "Dance in the Middle" is killer, but the rest of the album.... It was a long time waiting for their work of art - this album just doesn't do it for me.

Ok, so I'm friends with them, they already started their next album, I don't know for certian but I heard there were a lot of more upbeat songs coming, much more like their earlier stuff. But trust me, it won't be the same long, long wait that it was for this one.

I too am a fan from years past. I have seen Rusted Root more times than I can 'remember'. I just recently attended a show n Lockport,NY and Rochester,NY. This is where I first experienced the new stuff. I am a fan of Weary Bones and Crucible Glow. Everyone must love Suspicious Minds, their version was awesome. I have gotten alot of miles out of their early album,I'm glad 'Stereo Rodeo' is here!

I have seen Rusted Root a couple of times live and have a few of their CDs. This is a big disappointment. They jam so hard live and most of their earlier albums show that crazy life. Not this CD. It has too many slow tunes. Elvis-come on you can do better than that. This isn't going back to their roots. It must have been time to put out a record and this was all they could come up with. from a bummed fan.

I cannot think of an album that I more eagerly awaited than this one. Truly one of the most pure, talented, and creative bands of all time....but if this was the best they could come up with after that long of a span since the last album....I wish they'd go back to the drawing board. Still would goto the ends of the earth to see them live, but so bummed out with this project...

Rusted Root has certaintly done it again and boy do they ever do it. The wait is over ladies and gents. This album is FANTASTIC! Every track is full of the wonderful energy that rusted root brings on stage. Killer Version of Suspicious Minds which Root has been playing for couple years now live. I hope you read this Michael. Rusted Root is back! It's been 7 years since we've gotten brand new studio material from Rusted Root, and this album is worth the wait! Michael has recently been quoted as saying how much he hates being labeled in a certain "genre" and this album shows many different aspects of Rusted Root's music. All of them are very Root at heart, and have that jamming feel. It's all about the music here, and they really connect. Dance in the Middle is my favorite. Keeps me movin' & groovin'! But don't rule out the cinematic feel of Stereo Rodeo or the new Latin beat to the only cover on the album, Suspicious Minds. ROCK On Root. Rock on.

Huge fan of Rusted Root... this is one of the best albums yet! Can't wait to see them on tour! If it is this good on CD, I'm sure it will be amazing live.
