Bubble bath is the only way to describe this album. A bubble bath is an experience that for some people is incredible, and other people is nasty. For me a bubble is just a little bit... awkward! But that is 100 percent okay! It sounds like a demented Chuckee Cheese Fantasy at times and other times a very intelligent producer's stabs at creating experimental beats. To be completely honest I'm here because of TNGHT: Hudson Mohawke's excellent work with Lunice in the trap genre. This album is almost nothing like TNGHT. But this one will grow on me for sure! 3 and a half stars. But I'm sure it will reach a four in time.

Suspend 300,000 house cats from a net directly above a football stadium filled with keyboards and synthesizers. Release the net. It should sound something like this sonic amphetamine. 'Fuse' and 'Joy Fantastic' are worth a dollar each. Everything else is garbage.

ok, i just listened to the first 3 tracks and u can call me crazy if u want, but so far this reminds of some old "Street fighter" for SNES mix with some "Saved by the Bell" music. like for real!!...lol i like it though
  • Super disappointing.

This is a very weak release from a very talented musician. "Fuse" is really the only super-solid track on the whole album, and several of them feel like filler from some kid screwing around in his parents' basement. All I can figure is Hudson was under some serious time constraints, because it's honestly hard to believe this is the same artist who killed it with Polyfolk Dance. Hope he can get back to form with his next release. Buy the single and don't waste your money on the whole record.
  • So ... Just... Sick!!

I bought this based off one song at like 130 (drunk iphone music buying... Don't do it) in the morning and was like dude did i really just waste ny money ... I woke up and listed to it from start to finsh ... This is so sick .. You get wrapped into it ... This reminds me of a indie electro Timbaland .... Fuse is the jam 4sure .. If you like beats and electronic music you should own this ...
  • Different, but solid nonetheless.

If you're like me, and checked back here every couple of weeks for a new release from Mohawke because of his first release, Polyfolk Dance, then I think we'd both agree that this album does not disappoint. The beats and synths do sound a different in that they don't have the same forward driving momentum as say 'Overnight,' however, these tracks sound more cloudy and dreamy, which is definitely a plus in my opinion. It's great to see artists not staying within their confines, and it's even more satisfying when an artist succeeds in doing something a little different.
  • Ehh.. s'alright

There's something to be said when Hudson's firing on all cylinders - a fresh take on that middle ground between mainstream music and the scenester sound. However, let's just be honest - most of this album is filler. The guy seems like he has producer's ADD - most of the 18 tracks are what I'd consider demos or sketches. Highlights include Just Decided, Joy Fantastic, and Rising 5. Unfortunately, the hype surrounding this album was bigger than the album itself. Shame, the boy's got skills.
