love the music, it is almost like it is"crying", it truly helped create an "old world" feeling that gave the movie that extra little something. If you haven't seen it or listened to the album, I would definitely recommend you do both. tracks 8 & 15 are my favs.

Howard Shore is a excellent composer and Eastern Promises just adds to his all ready established resume. One of the best orginal scores of the year but it missed out.

Howard Shore is a master. The strings used for theses tracks are haunting and beautiful. I hope that this wins Best Score at the GGs and gets nominated (and wins) the Academy Award. Shore never ceases to amaze, so buy this.

I always thought his previous work was amazing, but this is obviously his best yet! The theme "Eastern Promises" sounds a lot like parts of The Village, with the single string solo dominating the song. This album is on my top song list without a doubt!

Cronenberg & Shore have reached a new level in their work together. The detail, and complexity of emotion has never been this succinct. I would highly except some laurels delivered upon this score - much deserved.
