  • Always a pleasure to experience

As a violinist, I have the upmost pleasure listening to Hilary's recordings and in concert (when she comes to Seattle). She is one of the truly great violinists in modern times when considering her perfect technique and ability to convey expression. This is one of my favorite recordings from her. You will not find more intricate attention to detail and musicianship. It is truly a wonderful experience to listen to.

My ideal model is Nathan Milstein; Hilary is right up there---reminds me of Szering, Franciscatti, and one of the older Heifitz recordings. Gallow gets carried awar: "greatest violinist" (think about it: Midori, Mutter, Bell, Perelman). Why not just say Hilary is among the best?

Hilary Hahn is the greatest violinist alive today. Possibly one of the greatest ever.

Supurb representation. Hahn has a satisfying balance of depth, energy and grace.

This is an excellent collection for illustrating Hahn's interpretive and technical gifts.

Hahn's playing does exactly what all fine art should do: it uplifts the listener. The Bach Chaconne is wonderful; a highly mature interpretation. No need for excessive speed here: she lets Mr. Bach's music speak on its own terms. I don't normally buy CDs with excerpts, i.e., The Best of.... however, when I saw this CD by Ms. Hahn I knew it wouldn't be disappointing and disappointing it is not!
