As I was young they was the group I liked and to this day I like this song and a few more. SWV is a good R&B slow jam music so if you ever just want to chill out and com down get caneckked to there songs.

I was a mere 9 years old when this CD came out. We rocked this CD so hard in our house in '96. It created memories and this is pure nostalgia. This is a part of my life and I love SWV for A New Beginning.

Don't let old reviews fool you... all 17 tracks are here! After SWV's stellar first album, this LP took awhile to grow on me. While "Use Your Heart" and "Fine Time" were instant winners with me, the rest of the album was either too sappy, or over-reaching for an urban, clubby vibe that seemed to elude it (despite their success with that sound on their prior album.) While most of the upbeat numbers never really caught on with me (with the exception of "On & On" and "It's All About U") the slower tracks slowly but surely sank in and became some of my favorite tunes. The core of the album, sweeping from "It's All About U" through "What's It Gonna Be," is rock solid, with "Where Is the Love," and the "Use Your Heart" interlude deserving to be full songs. "Love Is So Amazin'" and "When This Feeling," with it's excellent use of the "Midnight at the Oasis" sample (production courtesy of the Neptunes, their first big break if I'm not mistaken,) are standouts. An overall excellent album, they certainly don't make R&B music like this any more.
