  • This is Not the Original Broadway Version

Do not buy this version if you are looking for the original Broadway Cast Album. It has the same cover, but these are not the studio recorded songs. Several of them are different (not just the additional 2 songs at the end)
  • This version is broken

As other reviewers have pointed out, not only are there the wrong versions of the songs on this album, but when I purchased this album they were CORRECT. Somewhere along the way my CORRECT version was replaced by they broken version. Apple: fix your software.

I saw this when it was first on Broadway with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. During the song "Sunday," I actually got chills. That sounds corny, but the message and the magic washed over me. The music is just astonishingly good.
  • Phenomenal but typo

To Rex02: it is the same version and all are in order. The last 2 songs on this version of the album aren't from the OBC however everything else is. Also, I noticed that the song "Everybody Loves Louis" appears as "Everbody Loved Louis" (missing the y) on both this album and the other. Can this be corrected?
  • Don't Buy This Version!!!

Sunday In the Park With George is one of the most profound musicals ever writen, and fully deserving of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama that it was awarded. When it opened on Broadway, it literally changed the idea of what musical theater could be to the same extent that Oklahoma had done decades earlier. The problem with *this* recording is that the songs are out of order, and several are not the versions in the original show. The version here on iTunes with the same cover, but released in 1984 is the actual soundtrack, and is nothing short of brilliant. Buy it instead of this. You won't regret it.

To dramadude: Jonathan Larson wrote "Sunday" in Tick Tick...Boom! as an homage to Sondheim. Yes, they are basically the same song. This one came first.

I LOVE Stephan Sonheim! I just recently found Into the Woods but was bummed cause it wasn't the original with Brnadatte Peters but this is sooooo cool! I love both leading actors in this. Mandy Patinkin was Great in Secret Garden and I LOVE Bernadatte Peters in the original Into the Woods and as Lily St. Regis in Annie.
  • Love me some Sondheim!!

This is one of Sondheim's most beautiful and genius works. I love how every piece he writes has social commentary involved in it, while making interesting and beautiful music! My favorite numbers are "Sunday In the Park With George", "We Do Not Belong Together", "Sunday", and "Move On". But, my all-time favorite is "Finishing the Hat", as it explains how lonely it can sometimes be to have the drive to pursue art. Mandy Patinkin's voice is not usually my favorite, but it soars on this piece. Must-have for any musical theater lover, any Sondheim fan, or anyone who loves art for art's sake.

this recording is good, but for whatever reason it is not the recording of the cd shown above. This is dissappointing because Mandy Patinkin singing "Putting it together" is probably one of the best performances in Broadway History. Mind you this comes from someone who hates Mandy Patinkin.
  • Perfect for a Wednesday!
