Stand Out/Fit In

Discovered this band through the drummer(Wally De Backer)'s solo work as Gotye and I just can't stop listening to them! If you already couldn't get enough Gotye, you'll love to hear this seemingly different side of Wally - and enjoy his enchanting vocals & rockin' drums. If Gotye's not your thing, that's okay because The Basics have a totally different sound that everyone will enjoy! The catchy tunes permeate your brain and lift your spirit. The music is fun and the lyrics are clever. Everyone in the band is a phenomenal musician; it's not just "Gotye's band". I can't believe most of America has been missing out on this musical treasure for the past decade! If you love undeniably good music that you'll never want to turn off, buy this and The Basics' other albums at once!

I havn't been able to stop listening to this since I purchased it a few days ago. It's a great album that really draws from '60's music such as the Beatles (especially the cover of Three Cool Cats). These guys are really talented and have amazing voices. Hopefully Wally De Backer's fame will bring alot more people to this under-appreciated band.
