This album is one of Carlos’ best. I love Marbles and Free Form Funkafide Filth. I wish Carlos’s guitar would have this raw gritty sound he once had. Everything he has done in the last 20-30 years has been that really high pitch studio guitar sound.

As simple as this... I was in the crater at Diamondhead that day. It was quite a day.

Free Form Funkafide filth is the greatest jam ever recorded, 37 years later it still gets me going.

For those of us how were there [1972] this was Santana's first Album without the original lineup of muscians. It's raw energy took hold of us and won us over. Santana & Miles a winning combo. This album was recorded in the volcanic crater at Diamond Head which may have lead to the unique sound. In any event it is live music at it's zenith.

One of my all time favorite albums. Rocks from start to finish with a great combination of superstars!

This album really captures the electric feeling of being at a live concert during the golden age of rock. Nothing polished or packaged here. Just raw energy with delightfully minimal production value. Listen to this at ear-splitting levels for maximum effect.

I always enjoyed the up-tempo Evil Ways on this album; the classic album version is laid back; this version is "in your face"
