If it doesn't sound like the beach you go to, maybe it was recorded elsewhere--a rockier shore, with fewer people, maybe.
The real question is whether a] you want a nature recording; b] you like this one; and c] you think it's worth the money. I say yes to all three.
But I am puzzled about why people who don't want nature recordings or understand why someone else would have stopped to review this. It would be like me saying--I don't want a sports car, so you shouldn't buy one, because I think they're dumb--and posting a list of reasons why I don't like them. You know--teaching a pig whistle--wastes your time and annoys the pig. Because whining about how nature recordings are a waste of time and one lovely, uninterrupted track is extra dumb isn't going to persuade anyone who *wants* this kind of thing to go buy a bunch of short tracks that have music or sound like Florida or whatever it is that *you* prefer to this.
Because what some people here are doing has nothing to do with *this* recording; it's like complaining that rock isn't classical and then concluding that, since it isn't, no one should buy it.

No wonder you guys are reviewing this stuff! You are the most uptight people I've seen. If you don't think it sounds like an ocean, if it don't relax you, if you don't like the price.....then DON'T BUY IT!! My gosh! For those that want something to help them relax and if this does it for them, then I sure wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

You people sure are a pissy bunch. Nothing is perfect for anybody anymore, is it? Maybe you SHOULD buy this. Obviously, you all NEED to relax. It's 10 bucks, but it's an hour long nature recording. If that's not reasonable, maybe it's you..? It's what it says it is, so just chill. Bunch of whining children.

i live in San Francisco, CA so i've been to the beach before! this is not what a beach sounds like. it is peaceful though....

I live on the east coast of Florida so I know wat an ocean sounds like.... This isn't it. It sounds more like a river with a bunch of static. Really lame!!!
