You have to add Julie Andrews to your Christmas collection. Her voice is so perfect! It's a shame she lost it from surgery. I love how clearly she sings, it's so easy to hear what she's saying and she's very easy to listen to.

This Christmas album by Julie Andrews is her second, the first was recorded for RCA in the '60's. Waiting almost two decades before releasing this album, Julie's voice was still at it's peak and could do no wrong. The best part of this cd outside of Julie's crystal phrasing and perfect pitch and the remastering of this cd, is the song selection. Julie could have delivered an album of typical run-of-the-mill carols but delivered obscure instead. "Patapan" is almost never recorded and when it is it is usually an instrumental, the same must be said for "Rocking." The arrangements may come off a bit sterile for some ears but what was delivered is absolute perfection; Julie must have felt this because she never followed up with another Christmas album.

I fell in love with Julie Andrews after seeing her in The Sound of Music (on the big screen) as a kid. Her voice is like a warm blanket on a cold night—a welcome comfort. Hearing these songs makes me feel like a kid all over again.
