    Martynov's piece is absolutely breathtaking. Almost brings me to tears every time I listen to it! Influenced by the work of Ioann Lestvichnik, in which Ioann's writing: "The stairway to the kingdom of heaven is inside you...In answer to our knock we hear a voice that says to us - come in!" inspired this piece. Simply lovely and worth buying the entire album just to hear Come in!

    I wanted a sampling of some modern minimalism and this album is just that. The recording of Tabula Rasa is excellent, as is Philip Glass's Company. I'm not too keen on the Martynov piece, but the other works make the album worth buying overall. If you are unfamiliar with these works, I suggest giving them a listen. Glass's work may sound familiar to film-lovers, and Part's music is really quite unique. Tabula Rasa is worth a few listens, it tends to grow on the listener. Overall this is great music to have on in the background, or to get lost in thought to. The kind of music you need to be alone to appreciate.
