I hope Sara gets big, and when she does, we will look back at this beautiful album and know whey she is big. This is simply an amazing album. The first few times I listened, i was simply charmed by the tangy voice, laid-back arrangements, and flawless executions. I kept waiting for the charm to wear off, and it never did. I listened to it again today after a break for a couple of years, and I was moved by it again. From top to bottom, this is a wonderful album
NICE VOICE!

Sara Garzarek has an AMAZING voice!! She is really fun to listen to and her songs are beautiful. I love all of her songs but The Circle Game is one of my favorites. One of my friends learned the song in music class (she is a really good singer) and was singing it when she came out. I loved it right away, and would always ask her to sing it some more. Im glad Sara Garzarek sings this song because her voice is so pure. I definetly recomend this album.

Sara recently sang at my school's Fine Arts Day. I've never heard of her, but really liked how I could understand everything she was saying. If you are looking for clear and CLEAN music, check out this album out! :]
The original compositions are gems!

Having first heard the title track while waiting in a movie theater, I was amazed from the start by Sara's voice, the incredible songwriting and piano artistry by Josh Nelson, and the groove from the rhythms of Erik Kertes (bass) and Matt Slocum (drums). I've now seen Sara and the band twice, and they continue to have fresh arrangements of the standards, and creative covers of contemporary artists. Their original compositions are consistently top notch. The live follow-up to their debut is one to grab (Live at the Jazz Bakery). The original composition "I Don't Know How to Stay" played live was marvelous when I heard it live in New York and a second time in Pennsylvania is made incredible with the help of flutist, Katisse--I'll save the rest for a review of that CD.
The only reason I've given this one only four stars is because I expect great things from their next studio cut, which I understand will be released this spring and is sure to be fantastic. I'm saving my fifth star for the spring.
Great Album!

It takes a true artist to take standards and make them new and fresh, yet as familiar and comforting as hot cocoa on a snowy day. Sara's voice is amazing, her band is excellent and the arrangements rock!
One of my fav CD's of the year!

Sara Gazarek comes out as a young contender in an increasingly tight field of jazz singers, and definetly holds her own. While some tracks are old standards- My Shining Hour, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, even You Are My Sunshine- there's a delicious twist on all of them that just makes it fun to listen to over and over again. Even All or Nothing At All, a song done perhaps one too many times, carries new feelings with an added poem by Gazarek's brother. Simply a fun album.
