    I have been following Jeff Johnson's musical career since his second album "The Face of the Deep" [1980]. I still consider "Icons" as one of his best vocal projects. It expresses the human condition in a way that is very melancholy musically, yet beautifully portrayed by the hope of redemption that weaves throughout the album. It is his fifth recording and one that shows a growing maturity in his musicianship and creative talent. A must have for any Jeff Johnson fan.
