Been listening to them since they dropped Mind Over Matter and every record after that has gotten even more hollow and cheap.
  • Another new sound

Gotta admit that i was a little upset with zion I when the takeover came out and it was clear their sound was changing but got over it and eventually grew to like it and they've continued to evolve with this one, Zion I is the undergrounds best kept secret
  • ?..... on second thought

Yeah... I don't hear that ambitious Zumbi sound I was expecting from this album. I was already beginning to see ZionI slip into that with their last, bit I could still fell the soul in it. In my opinion, they need to go back to sampling fresh tracks get back to break beats and jazz fusion. Its become a bit too much like the rest of the scene. Everyone's going robotic, electronic feel in their raps. I was hoping for something more holistic/organic but instead got too much synthetic computer sounds. Its great if your into that thing..... I mean, most people are.

WOW!!! This is an amazing album. Amp's production is ridiculous. It seems like every album he creates a new sound. Zumbi's writing is at an all time high. Best $10 dollars I've spent this year.

I've been a listener of Zion I for a few years now. I have seen them live three times. I have even gotten to meet Zumbi at Hella fresh fest at the Fillmore. Zion I always brings the fire. This album is one of their best to date. Zumbi has grown as a lyricist, and Shadow Boxing is definitely proof that there is no slowing down this prolific emcee. Amp Live once again does not disappoint. He is a grade A basshead and its apparent in this album. Strong hip hop roots with electronic influences, coming from the mind of Amp, you are indeed in for a treat. Amp is a great producer and is always working. You can tell he loves what he does. True artists right here. If you buy any Zion I albums, this one is definitely one you should pick up. Big ups Zion I.

Impressed by how great this album is! A lot of the older underground hip hop groups have trouble making music that is relevant to our culture and current music. This is some awesome hip hop with modern electronic influences. Great buy!!!

Every single track is fire. Amp proves he can still take it to new levels, and Zumbi has stepped it even higher than ever before too. His voice is tranquil-like, and his lyrics are very thought-provoking. Much love to these dudes
