He got my attention a few years back with L.E.F. Now I listen every week with Corsten's Countdown free podcast. An hour a week of great new electronic music! And check out "Moscow" by W&W, featured on the countdown for several weeks, awesome as well!
  • COMPLETELY DISAGREE with the first guy!

Love Ferry....this album needs to grow on me or something.....seems too "pop" for me. He does stay true to his Trance roots with Take Me, Wknd and Brute...awesome songs... the song In Your Eyes with Jes, is really terrible. IMHO Jes is overrated and overplayed and I can't even enjoy the music behind her singing. Overall 3 stars, hoping Ferry doesn't pull a Guetta on us trance fans. Tranceislife baby!
  • A Triumph!

I was lucky enough to have been @ Space for his album release party. This album blew evryone away, so much energy & melody. He is one of those DJs that seldom dissappoints. Go see him live if you have a chance.

Ferry Corsten is a one-of-a-kind producer and DJ. He is one of my biggest inspirations, along with Armin van Buuren (and many other trance DJs). What sets Ferry apart from everyone else is his unique style of electro-sounds and his amazing attention to detail. Twice In A Blue Moon, Ferry's last effort, is my favorite trance album of all time. His latest effort "WKND" is very different, but that's not to say it's not a good album! WKND is the perfect album to listen to in the day, and then follow-up with Twice In A Blue Moon at night. My favorite track is "Ain't No Stoppin'" - it has Ferry's signature song written all over it, which I love. When that electro-power melody kicks in like "BAM!" you can't help but bob your head. It really helps to play this track on HIGH VOLUME to get the full experience! 2nd favorite track goes to "Walk On Air" - it really is the type of trance I love. So dreamy but unique. Ferry chose the perfect vocalist for this one. She compliments the track very well! Live Forever is the perfect example of Ferry's "attention to detail" I mentioned earlier. I *LOVE* the different noises used on every 4th beat during the progressive parts. I am a sucker for that kind of stuff - a little stutter here, a little ding there. Another place where you can see great "attention to detail" like this is on Ferry's remix of "Suddenly" I truly love the bonus track "Sunday" and I feel the album is not complete without this track. On the other hand, if you are expecting another "Made Of Love" from "Not Coming Down", don't. They are completely different tracks and the only thing they have in common is the vocalist Betsie Larkin. "Not Coming Down" is not a bad track, but "Made Of Love" is virtually untouchable. But hey, what can you expect after a track as epic as that? Overall, a great album and of course any Ferry Corsten fan should not miss out on. So... what are you waiting for? "Check It Out" already!! ;)

I like a few of the tracks, but this is a bit too Progressive-housey for me. It lacks the emotive quality of his other efforts.
  • pretty good

So glad I got this album!! i've been long awaiting its release. Though, I definitely expected more from ferry corsten. a third of the songs sound superficial, and doesn't quite capture the beautiful musicality that trance/prog-house songs tend to exude. but don't get me wrong... the songs that are good, are GOODDDDD and are definitely being played on repeat.
  • Amazing but.....

3 worst songs on the album: Aint no stoppin and Let you go because they sound like David Guetta songs. Tacky and tasteless. The 3rd worst is Walking on Air because the chorus just makes me wanna rip my hair out. That high pitch voice ruins the song and melody. I was the hottest part of the song is the last 38 seconds and that's not a joke. If the whole song's sound was based on those last 38 seconds it would be the sickest song on the album. How am I so sure? I'm an artist myself and have am very critical when it comes to melody, verse and chorus. Otherwise the album is Eargasmic. Enjoy!
