What's going on here? I love The Fray but this album is a disappointment. I barely even heard a piano. A few of their songs were good but their style has changed completely. I really hope they get back to what they were doing with songs like "How to Save a Life." I miss the piano. I liked what their other songs were about but I'm not so sure about these.

As a native Coloradoan, I've always been partial to the Fray. With this album, they've expanded their sounds with the fantastic Brendan O'Brien (known for his work with Pearl Jam, the Chili Peppers, and AC/DC) into a perfect blend of religiously tinged pop-rock. It's certain to please a variety of audiences, so I highly recommend this record to anyone who likes 21st century music. The best song is by far 'Heartbeat,' but 'Rainy Zurich' is fantastic too. That said, the Deluxe edition includes some great gems. You're missing out if you settle for the cheap one.
  • Thank God they stayed classic this long

Most bands convert to pop by the 3rd or 4th album. The Fray at least has not yet done so.
  • Doesn't Disappoint

It has been almost a year since this album came out, so I guess that gives me enough time to think about how I feel about it. In my opinion, the best part about this album is that there isn't one big standout. There are lots of songs here that deserve to be mentioned, but I felt that the most underrated song on here was Rainy Zurich. I also like Heartbeat. The Fighter and Run For Your Life sound like The Fray's signature sound. I definitely hope that they keep making music for a while to come!

So surprised that I didn't like this album. I love their other albums and was expecting this one to be awesome too. These songs are kind of annoying to listen to... Sorry to say. Bummer!

First off, to all those people who are saying that they don't like the album because The Fray "sounds different" or they are conforming to society and they are creating mainstream music now, obviously you haven't actually listened to the album. And second, if they didn't change up their sound at least a little, you would complain that all of their albums sound the same. So if you are to criticize, come up with a valid, legitimate reason for the criticism. That being said, I honestly believe that this is The Fray's best album, and each and every song takes my breath away. All of the songs are meaningful, purposeful, and are meant to take you on a journey. It was extremely difficult for me to pick favorites from this album, but I do have a few: -Heartbeat: Great song to kick-start the album and create a travel-like feel. -The Fighter: Beautiful. Love the guitar solo at the beginning. Love the story this song tells. -Turn Me On: Slightly different than what you would expect from The Fray, but still meaningful and awesome. -Run For Your Life: Very emotional, well-sung, and the message reminded me a little of "How to Save a Life". -The Wind: Love. Love. Love. One of my favorites. I love the lyrics, the vocals, everything. -1961: I have grown to really enjoy this song. It's actually very cool and unexpected. -I Can Barely Say: Very raw and exposed, which I always admire. A classic. -Munich: Again, LOVE. One of my favorites. I love the strings at the beginning: it's just a great way to start something. -Here We Are: Another one of my favorites! It's the most "rock" song on the album, and still holds a message and tells a story.I listen to it when I'm feeling rebellious. -48 to Go: Simple and carefree. It tells a story and puts you in a good mood. -Rainy Zurich: Wow. Just wow. One of my favorites. You can HEAR the rain! After listening, I was at a loss of words. -Be Still: Great song to wrap up the whole album and end the journey, and still remind everyone that The Fray is still that piano-based rock band.
