Same passionate "preaching" but before he knew Christ

Keith Live in concert from 1972, when he was 18.
This is "classic" Keith in so many ways... the incredible (at times jaw-droppingly amazing!) piano skills and the energy of his live concerts, his passionate "preaching," but how astounding to hear his "preaching" before he knew Christ. This music shows so clearly the gifts and "raw material" of Keith's talents which the Lord took and transformed when Keith chose to follow Jesus. A fascinating glimpse into Keith's pre-Christian music.
The first song, "Stay on the Path," is especially interesting. It reveals Keith's heart as a seeker and his struggle to be righteous in his own strength. Pair this with some of Keith's later works such as "Grace by Which I stand" or "Only by Following Jesus" and you have a very clear picture of the difference Christ makes in someone's life when they trust in Him. Five years later Keith would record "When I hear the praises start" which has the lyrics "my son, my son, why are you striving, you can't add one thing to what's been done for you." EXACTLY! Praise God Keith's incredible talent was used to proclaim that TRUTH!
