I was listening to pandora radio and and "Macheeto" starting playing, I realized that I was missing out, big time! This is music for critical thinkers, artists, poets, musicians, and just about anyone in my opinion. If you enjoy this album, I also encourage you to check out featured artist Slakah the Beatchild's album, "Soul Movement Vol. 1". Enjoy Ya Self!

I've been following Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz series since I picked up Vol. 4 just over a year ago; I backtracked to 1-3, then picked up 5 and 6. All great, and each one having its own flavor. Farina started out with heavy hip hop and R&B influences but with each record he seemed to pick up more of a psychedelic flair. In Vol. 4-6 Farina elegantly synergized sounds from his previous efforts into a true fusion of hip hop and acid jazz. The interesting thing about Vol. 7 is that it seems to go unabashedly for strong psychedelia instead of the previous 1:1 ratio. There's still hip hop here but it's nowhere near as omnipresent as it used to be in the series, and this record really does come across like a magic mushroom trip. Frankly, I love it. This one is certainly one of the best Mushroom Jazz records to relax to and the lyrics of "Stressin'" are worth a close listen, especially when your mood fits the title of the song. The record flows really nicely at the start, though I do wish the tracks at the back end of it didn't seem so isolated. For Mark Farina, this is an unusual departure, as most of the Mushroom Jazz records play like a single entity.

Farina does it again! Evolution on the same plane. MJ7 is exaclty what you think it will be. Deep, warm tracks from some great crossover artists run front to back on a true school compilation of impeccably mixed tracks. My mushroom jazz collection continues to grow.

Been listening to Farina for years and love that he spans the music world between Hip Hop and House. I've loved every Mushroom Jazz since volume 1 and 7 does not dissapoint. Great beats to work to, drive to, and lounge to. This is a must buy for any Farina fan. Keep up the great work Mark.
