I love this song. It's very sedate and thought provoking. I discovered it while watching the movie, "This Is Where I Leave You".
  • Poetic, passionate, intimate, moving music

In a time when autotune pop has taken over the music industry, Alexi Murdoch silently hides in the shadows with gems like this album. It’s folky but not in a twangy way. I’ve never heard so much passion and intimacy in an album before. A song here and there from an artist because their label wants an acoustic song to go on the album, yes. But this entire album sounds like he’s whispering you his deepest secrets. This man is a true music artist. He knows not only how to play and sing, but how to make the listener feel, how to move the listener. He’s a master of it, really. He doesn’t clutter the songs with unnecessary instruments and tracks. When you have this man’s voice, you don’t need it. "Through The Dark" is by far my favorite track. It’s poetic and heartfelt. There is so much emotion pouring out of him. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and stop reading reviews and buy this album.

I've been waiting so long for him to come out with something new. This record does not try to hard to follow up the first album, and instead peppers in subtle differences while maintaining the same, soothing sound! Great album!!
  • Upward bound.

This album gets better every time I listen to it. I really had lofty expectations when I heard Alexi's second effort was due out but I'm more than happy with the outcome. I was left unsure after the first listen, since I had my microscope out, but I now love it as I did his first. "Some say soon" get's played twice every time it comes on. I'm fixated on "The Light" as well and have had the album on repeat on my iPod since it came out.
