  • Different Arrangements/Live

These are live arrangements of songs mostly from "These Friends of Mine" from 2006. This album has also been known as "The Apartment Sessions." Many of these arrangements are more stripped down (ie. the beautiful "Kite Song" which now lacks strings, acoustic guitar, and is essentially Rosie with a piano.) The arrangements are often recorded live with Sufjan Stevens and Denison Witmer. These are (in my opinion) much more intimate pictures of Rosie than the albums offer. They are wonderful examples of how some beautiful songs can become even more beautiful with only a few people in a cozy corner playing their music.

I too was stoked to see a new album...Once I looked at the tracks, I knew right away...it's just the same Rosie on a new Cd. Bummer. I gave it 4 stars cause I love Rosie, but it's old stuff revisited...
  • Beware - this album is identical to These Friends of Mine (2006)

I'm an unhappy chappie. I was excited to see a new Rosie Thomas (RT) album and promptly purchased it from iTunes. Little did I realise that it is identical to RT's 2006 These Friends of Mine (different recordings, same tunes). How bizarre. This wasn't clear from the album write-up so I'm somewhat miffed. Obviously, I'd like my money back as I already own this album and have just bought for the second time from iTunes, albeit four years apart.
