One of the most beautiful Christian music ablums ever. Every time I hear some of the songs such as Hold Us Together and Garden I get so emotional I have to sing out loud no matter where I am. If more stars were available I'd rate this as way above 5 stars.....

This album runs the gammet when it comes to themes, but the one commonality is they are all about the struggles we face as Christians, imperfect creatures aspiring to be like a perfect God. Alive Again, the opening track, is a reminder of how far God was willing to go to reach us, even surrounded by teh darkness of our own sin. It's a powerful song with a driving beat and lyrics that make you really stop and re-examine your own life. Then there's "flesh and bone," wow! More indicitive of balad-style praise, the lyrics really hit hard. What do we do with teh gifts He gave us? Do we squander them, or do we live like we are more than flesh and bone? Probably my favorite song on the whole album, Hold us Together, is an answer to the "save em and send em out" mentality you find in many churches. It really reminds us that we all need someone to help us through the hard times we all face at some time or another. I love the southern rock feel to the song, similar to some of NeedToBreathe's stuff...
  • Incredible from the music to the lyrics

This is one of the best Christian albums in the past 5 years. The music is catchy and attractive. But what sets this album apart is the lyrics. Yes, we have all heard the songs that praise God, but this album is full of songs that have a depth that reaches not just to an emotional experience of God, but one that helps you to actually know that God loves you. Highly recommended.

Matt's music continues to grow on me. I'm impressed at the deep, organic connection that the songs on this album have to Matt's experience of the living God as he expresses it on his introduction to the album. (This can be found on his website.) While I find the music connects me emotionally to the Lord in prayer and praise, I find God using it to lead me to seek him in the quiet, somber moments in my week as well.

"Christ Is Risen" doesn't get nearly enough of the credit it deserves.... it is the best song on an awesome album. So powerful. Shout Of The King, Alive Again, Hold Us Together, and especially No Greater Love make this album the best Gospel release, or any release, for that matter, of the last year. Rock on, Matt. May God continue to bless you and bless us THROUGH you!
