  • Paint me a ceiling in my bedroom with this music!

It’s nothing new that a good melody is the essence of music, but how do you create one? Take a few colors and try to recreate some Rembrandt. How come there’s so much beautiful paintings with only 3 primary colors? And how come there’s so much music with only 12 notes available ? I bet Jim can tell you. Victor Mendoza created beautiful canvas for this music and he only does it for the best of them, like Joni Mitchell and the likes. Jim’s music goes above and beyond what you’ve heard that’s why you want to keep coming back to it.

This is something completely original and smacks of genius. I've never heard jazz quite like this! This is truly mind-opening stuff, nuanced and well worth repeated listentings. Music like this gives me hope that originality is not dead...Brian Grace, saxophonist, Long Beach, CA.
