Optical Illusions - EP

now where is the rest of the album? Air, Zero 7... all imitators to the Master, William Orbit has been doin' his thing long before them. Strange Cargo series is a good place to start, but you should dig deeper and find Bassomatic. William Orbit in his "zone". Certainly the most influential under appreciated keyboardist of electronica on the planet. Nice to see him back in the drivers chair.

since i've chanced upon an excellently produced track. listening to william orbit produces songs that makes me feel like everything becomes slower and sweeter. pleasure

It is astonishing the level of pure talent that William Orbit sets forth time and time again. A true visionary, who seemingly, has endless ageless potential. I could run miles listening to his work.

but nothing we haven't heard before from AIr, Zero 7 or Lindstrom.

I'm so happy new material is coming out, and Optical Illusions is superb. I look forward to the full album. Great that he's releasing so many mixes too- something missing from much of his earlier material given Orbit's such a superb mixer. At least I only have a handful of remixes from his past catalog. Would love to see those on iTunes. In 1995 I discovered William Orbit through Strange Cargo 3. My musical world was so shattered by it and reconstructed that words cannot do it justice. Needless to say I am a happier person because of his music. It's forms the soundtrack to my life :)

It's wonderful to have this small taste of the forthcoming album "My Oracle Lives Uptown." Orbit is an original and a true pioneer in the Electronic genre. I strongly suggest any of his "Strange Cargo" albums to anyone not familiar with his work. You will not be disappointed!
