I haven't heard all of the live stuff that's out there, but I must say this is what originally got me really into this band. After losing all my CDs -going back now to re-create a GD library and this is stop número uno!

I've been a Deadhead since before most of you were born--I remember Pigpen --& Jerry learning to play steel guitar on stage at the Berkeley Comm. Theatre. SO--I've been to some shows. I wish I'd been at this one! They are all on, and they are cookin' at a nice steady simmer. Beautiful jamming. Trust me on this one.

What a find. Excellent performance, excellent sound, excellent set list. This is the best I have hear Phil sound and I have heard around 15 Dead shows. Every one is spot on and clearlu recorded. It is mixed so well. I am very impressed. It sounds like it was recorded yesterday, Highlights include the Blistering Playing that ends the first set, and the beautiful Dark Star>Mind Left Body. The Eyes is flawless. The only better Dark Star that I have heard is on DP 4, but the sound quality is not as good. This is right up there with 18, 10, 20, as my favorites. An essentail Pick.

a good pick; i think this one has some better moments than DP 14 overall. it starts off with a really nice first disc. sugaree, jed, don't ease, jack straw, and tleo are all really well played "1st set" tunes - tleo might be my favorite of the earlier "fast" versions. i don't care for the second disc quite as much, save a brilliantly pyschedelic playing in the band, and a good half-step. the real action starts on the third disc. the debut of dark star>mind left body is really the meat of the show. this star>mlb is no 11-11-73 but its still a keeper, and one of the best of the year imho. not to mention it leads into a blistering am dew. there are way better '73 shows out there, but this is still a real nice one to get.
