In October 2008, I went to a Jazz Festival in Mableton Ampitheatre in Atlanta, GA. Wayman and Spyro was the headline. I knew this would probably be the last concert to see him in great health, BUT that very weekend he had to go to emergency surgery to get his foot amputated! I was so sad for this to happen to such an oustanding jazz musician as well as a great ball player.
HE WILL REALLY BE MISSED!!!

Wayman Tisdale moved me, musically, like only a select few have (Camel and Chris Botti are a couple in that list). His style and skill were excellent and I will always hold him as a jazz great.
