Reviews

  • Rough at best

Sorry this is Little Walter towards the end of his career and drunk no doubt. That is his image on the cover. An old photo of him I've seen many times before. Sounds like he assembled a band of young hippies to back him that weren't really schooled in the blues. Horrible bootleg recording. Worth nothing unless you want it from a historical standpoint.
  • Hey that's Sonny boy out there!

yep that's Sonny Boy not Little Walter...love both of them, although the one on the cover is not Little Walter no sir.

I know enough about recording to say someone bootlegged this thing. Having seen Otis at his peak back in the early seventies, steer clear of this. Now that is a resemblance of Little Walter on the cover and his voice is on one of the cuts. But, on one track either Little Walter was so bombed he could hardly play single note runs and in some areas I swear it sounds like Big Walter Walter was sitting in and maybe he was...this thing is a mess...get Otis on his Cobra Recordings and Little Walter's Chess stuff if you want to hear these guys right.
  • Who's Playing the Harp??

Is it me, or does the harp player on the cover of this CD look like Sonny Boy Williamson II and not Little Walter? The music is clearly Walter, but the image looks very much like SBW II.
