...and some not so good things. I was really fond of most of Sasha's new tracks, (How long had it been since Airdrawndagger?) so I was looking forward this collection, curious about the remixes and enthusiastic about the "New Emissions" score. Some of the pieces are great. The "Spangled Rubdub" for "Coma" is a nice little punch up of the original track. The "Mongoose" edit cuts to the best bits of the original track (for those times when you just can't wade through several minutes of effects to get to the hook). Also liked the Field's disco mix of "Mongoose". As for the "New Emissions" soundtrack—a lot of it is quite good and sets up a nice mood, not unlike some of Sasha's previous work. Some of the 40 minutes in the track feel under-produced though, as if Sasha had let the ideas go before he had time to really let them bloom. Sadly, the majority of the remixes here are fairly dull. Maybe I just don't have an ear for them, but they seemed to have sucked a lot of the atmosphere and life out of the originals, leaving behind just beats and uninspired twinkles of sound.
  • Zzzzzzz.

Thank goodness for the final track 13 (Film Score). Otherwise, I'd have felt a little let down. This album is actually more of a remix/b-sides/maxi-CD album. Not very hard hitting with minimal peaks & valleys.

I really felt like in a coma when listening to the track. I agree on the label subject, change it so people won't mistake him. Just an amazing chill feeling you get with coma.
  • Hilarious. iTunes it is not Sasha! but Rather DJ Sasha.

Some very solid tracks ... nice to finally see the "New Emissions of Light and Sound" sound track out to buy as well. Really what makes the buy. These are some solid remixes from the tracks Coma, Who Killed Sparky, Mongoose, and Park it the Shade. emFire is Sasha's label and he is been releasing some solid but not epic tunes. Please do not get confused ... this not a mix album, but rather a "collection of tunes and remixes". This is more geared towards the avid collector or DJ.
  • iTune should check their labeling

Sasha's new work has been stunning to say the least and when I heard he was putting together a remix album with Slam, Audion, Radio Slave, and The Field turning in works I was stoked. I found most of the 4/4 stuff to be a bit too minimal for my liking but all in all its a great comp. The Emfire Edits are great and The Field turned in some amazing remixes, especially Mongoose, but what really is the crown jewel is the Film Score of New Emissions of Light & Sound. Put it on and let it take you away to times of Airdrawndagger. Really, really, quality stuff! Nice work Mr. Coe...nice work
