Reviews

  • A bit different, but still great!

The 5 Browns are going into new territory with this one... jazzy next to classical, modern next to standards! It's great! If you don't want the whole album (yet, heaven knows why...), the best are Carnival of the Animals- Aquarium, Clair de Lune, Home Blues from an American in Paris, Everybody Loves Somebody (this might be a tast thing for some), and Superstar Etude. Then, get the whole album, and see what you're missing!

I just attended The 5 Browns concert at Ball State University last night and it was great. The Browns are masters of the piano. Their combinations as well as solo pieces bring a new prospective to each piece which results in great music. Every member has incredible passion which is obvious in person and even transcends to the recording. See them live if you can, if not this album is still a must have for any piano enthusiast.

These people are fantastic in every way. This CD just makes me happy. Good work you guys! Anyone can enjoy music like this. It takes classical music to a completely different level.

The 5 Browns beautifully blend their music in this elegant album. Each of the Browns is an exceptional talent individually, but to hear them blend their talents into quintet piano work is truly special!
  • Maturity exibited by the Browns!

Young pianists many times are attracted to increased dynamics and showy musicianship. But the Browns have matured, performing the great composers' works that might appear to be outside the "in crowd." They take their time, not rushing into their art and come away with a dazzling tour-de-force!
  • Yawn.

Just another gimmick. Don't waste your money.
  • STOP THE JOHN WILLIAMS PRODUCER/SPAM ARTIST

No more "reviews" by the so-called John Willimas clarinet concerto producer. He/she is a spam artist whose sole goal is to call attention to a Williams recording no one cares about. Please report this scam artist to iTunes.
  • Gaining on the adults. Look out Loussier and Montero!!!

FIrst of all - delete the song "Everybody Loves Somebody" from the playlist and add it to your easy listening vocals - where it belongs. What you have left is some great interpretive music. This quintet of talented musicians has put together several very nice pieces. You will enjoy listening!

Wonderful playing by great young pianists. This one by the 5 Browns shows a mellower side and guest artists add to the appeal of the album. This will please classical afficianados as well as people who just appreciate beautiful music. Here we have a well thought out program and and carefully delivered performances, and these brothers and sisters just seem to get better.
