There is such power and beauty in all of those voices together. An especially gorgeous version of Gabriel's Oboe. While a recording can never do justice to such a transformative experience as hearing 100+ men sing in unison, this ain't bad! What's missing is Dr Stan Hill's own composition that was in the first act of the live production, which I still remember as being my favorite part of the concert back in '91. (Somebody's Lamentation on the Death of Jonathan?) This is a more serious album than most of the SFGMC's, and I love it. I've listened to this many, many times, and it always pleases.
