I'm a sax player and as a kid I grew up listening to Boots, Phil Woods, Tom Scott and Dave Sanborn. From those artists I created my jazz/pop/rock sound on sax. From Boots I learned to growl and use vibrato effectively. I used my ear to copy his ideas and found the Music Minus One CD's Nashville Classics and When The Spirit Moves You. These are books with CD's that include the full artiist recordings as well as play along tracks. Just great stuff.

I was thrilled to download this wonderful album, and then learn two days later that Boots had passed away on July 3rd. especially like his rendition of 'Round Midnight. God Bless You Boots wherever you are! What an entertainer, and a teacher I never met but from the scratchiungs of LP's, CD's, and now the IPOD. Everyone should have this last album of Boots in their IPOD library. Another great has left us. Thanks for reading. jetsax12
