This is a very lovely collection of some of the most touching and inspiration pieces of classical music (in my opinion atleast). Its a great soundtrack to studying, reading (in general), or doing anything that requires a calm, focused mind. Well worth every cent.

The suits still think that they can make a crappy mix-tape. Only those who have no clue about classical will enjoy this. -Bz

Nice collection of Classical works. None particularly exciting, but relaxing nonetheless. Very good price point for the material provided and the performances are excellent.
  • there's a reason why classical music is a study cliche

I'm one of those people that gets angry and frustrated over math. This compilation has helped me really conquer those frustrations. At first the music seems a little distracting, but if you let yourself focus on your studies it just fades into the background, and you don't realize how soothing it is until you've studied for 3 hours and time has flown by. It really helps drown out any background noise, and I feel smarter just listening to it. My only complaint is that before I know it, it's over, so I'm buying a 2nd volume to avoid redundancy. Buy it, you won't regret it!

This is a killer mix of classical music. I'm off to get the next volume.
  • Soothing the teenage soul.

I've been teaching middle school students science and have found classical music (Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, esp. Baroque Largo movements) to be soothing to their hormonal souls during our "focus" periods. I put it at a quiet volume in the background and I'm amazed at the effect that it has on their "behavior". Consider giving it a try if you are teaching tortured adolescents. Tell them that you know a way to increase their test scores by up to 20% for doing nothing more than listening to 40-60 beat classical tunes while they work on assignments...can't hurt, and what can they say? Please turn it off? I haven't had any complaints yet...

I bought some of the songs on here, hoping for some relaxing music, but also to add to my own "classical study hall" collection. You see, it sounds crazy, but listening to just the right selections of classical really, truly do help improve concentration on homework, and provide motivation to get through it. Since doing it, I can honestly say my essays have improved, math has become more bearable, and I get through homework quicker. I especially reccomend highly Pachellbel's Canon in D, moonlight sonata, claire de lune, fur elise and sonata no. 17

All beautiful music, but I especially recommend Spiegel Im Spiegel (Mirror in the Mirror). It is, like the movie it was featured in ("Wit"), heartbreaking. Simply heartbreaking. You'll kick yourself for not buying it.
