Great soundtrack to an even greater movie. I think Luke was Newman's finest performance and the high point of it all is when he plays "Plastic Jesus" on his Mama's banjo. Very, very powerful scene and Paul just nailed the song. I love the instrumental version, but wish someone (iTunes maybe) could make this great song available.

Lalo Schifrin delivers a wonderful and entertaining soundtrack for one of the great films of its time. Anyone from the New York City area can't escape the fact that channel 7 (Eyewitness News) in a stroke of genius, made use of the "Tar Sequence" as its cornerstone theme for what seems to be forever. Bill Beutel, Roger Grimsby and Tex Antoine all have Schifrin to thank for their fame and success. Boil up some eggs and enjoy!
