The review has Ralph Trower doing the guitar intro to "The Moors", when they meant to name Ralph Towner (not to be confused with Robin Trower). By the way, this is a great album!

I heard Weather Report with Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul in concert in a gymnasium at Kent State University in the mid-1970s. Out of this world! I felt that Wayne Shorter was directly communicating to me, it was that powerful for me. It was if he was talking to me personally. Not exactly transcendent but visceral and proprioceptive.

This is, quite simply, my favorite CD off all times. Ethereal, melodic, complex, rhythmic, spontaneous... a combination of live and studio recordings that displayed a ground-breaking band at the height of their powers. For those more familiar with their later jazz/funk sound (e.g. 125th St. Shuffle), this is a much more complex, richer tapestry of sounds. Clearly an extension of their work with Miles, there is a cohesion in this work that transcends even Miles' best efforts. Closest in feel to their first CD, this is the band's hallmark achievement.
