I would like to say that this is the best CD that I have heard in a long time playing nothing but marches. I have listened to this CD several times, and each time listen I give it more stars. I rate this CD as a 5 star billing out of 5. It is a winner as far as I am concerned and I recommend that everyone buys a copy. I am looking forward to the next volume of marches. I have several regiments playing these marches but, The U S Marine Band does a excellent job playing them my hat is off to them and the director of music. Well done to all!

John Philip Sousa holds such a powerful identity in American marches that the average American thinks he wrote all the marches. If it's a good or famous march it must have been written by Sousa says the "man in the street." This outstanding new CD from AltissimoNot Sousa by the U.S. Marine Band highlights great marches not composed by Sousa. Every march here is a classic, world famous, and a standard in every band's march repertoire. You get some really boisterous gems like "Entry of the Gladiators" and "Rolling Thunder" to Norway's more contemplative "Valdres." The excellent U.S. Marine Band gives its usual great sounding performance to guarantee that this CD will please all. The CD is called Volume 1 which happily promises future CD's. Why not suggest some of your favorites to Altissimo?
