  • Still my favorite

As I go back through my L&M vinyl collection that I aquired in the early 70's, I still find this one to be my favorite. So well produced, well recorded, and more folky than their previous albums. Lower-key, yes, but extremely musical and a pleasure to listen to. I find myself looking to purchase songs that I do not have in digital format and this is the album that I am just going to buy all the songs on. This album has a few longer songs that are quite a bit more intricate than previous L&M material. Love the mandolin.
  • A completely awesome album.

I agree with many of the reviewers here, I think this is the pinnacle of their collaboration, not the nadir. For one thing, it demonstrates in a way that most bands of the time did not get, that just a few instruments and an awesome voice could be magic. I come back to this album time and again, and love every note. There are precious few albums of this era I can say this of. Just sayin'.

Loggins & Messina's first and second albums had great memorable songs, with nice arrangenents & production. Unfortunately, their later albums were below the high standards of the first two.

Has to be their best,. Like other reviewers I never tire of it. The distinctive vocals of Kenny Loggins and the masterful production Of Jim Messina is a combination that did not quite make it on the other albums. They peaked here and then gathered their monies and moved on.

Even after all these decades, I still listen to this album and never get tired of it. It's one of those few albums where every song is great. The longer ones are my favorites (Be Free, Move On) which have a lot going on and you can pick up on new things each time you listen to it. With fantastic arrangements, interesting instruments, subtleties and nuances, this is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE ALBUMS.

This CD brings back sooo many memories. They were reaching the end but saved some of their best for last. Not a commercial hit but take time to REALLY listen & you too might think this is Loggins & Messina's best.

Although I have favorite tunes on their other albums, this, as a whole, is the one I like best. Very easy to listen to, start to finish. Exquisite production by Messina. There's a warmth and depth to the sound I don't hear on any of the other L&M sides. Good stuff.
